Fall is here and that can only mean one thing, it is time for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). This is a hard ticket event which runs from September 1 through October 31 on select nights. Hard ticketed events mean you will receive a paper ticket in the mail which will serve as your entry to the event. Disney sells a limited number of tickets for this event in order to keep the crowds low. Keep in mind these tickets cannot be linked to your Magic Band and will not show up in My Disney Experience except via a note you create. Fast Pass is also not available during the event. So what makes this annual event so special you ask? Well for one, the Magic Kingdom is transformed into “not so spooky,” yet very festive, Halloween décor. This family-friendly event gives an opportunity for the young, and young-at-heart, to wear their favorite Halloween costumes and do some trick-or-treating Disney style. In addition to all the candy you can collect, Disney offers some special entertainment during the event. The “Boo to You” parade begins with the classic headless horseman leading the way for the rest of the floats and your favorite characters decked out in their Halloween costumes. There is also a Villain’s Castle show featuring some of Disney’s favorite villain’s in a stage show in front of Cinderella’s castle. For the family members who like to move and groove, there is plenty of opportunity to dance in the park at either the “Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball” in the Rockettower Plaza in Tomorrowland or “Club Villain” in the Diamond Horseshoe Review space. Let’s not forget this is the Magic Kingdom and many of your favorite rides will be open during this event. Due to the restriction in the number of tickets sold, the lines for the rides are usually low. You also have the opportunity for some meet and greet time with some of your favorite Disney characters throughout the park in their Halloween costumes.

Feeling hungry? Disney has conjured up lots of special treats which can only be enjoyed at this special event. Want a special reminder of the party? Disney has that covered too. They have lots of themed merchandise for sale at the various gift shops throughout the park. Maybe you were hoping for a photographic memory? Don’t fret. The Disney photographers are also on duty to capture all of your spooky celebrations with characters and other fun activities throughout the night.

Last but not least, what would a Disney party be without fireworks? Disney has a special show called “Celebrate the Magic” which transforms Cinderella’s Castle into color and Halloween fun, followed by “Hallowishes,” a fireworks extravaganza sure to please the most discriminating ghoul.

If that isn’t enough fun for you, Disney is also offering a separate event within this event called “The Villains’ Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle” Premium Dessert Party.” This party offers special desserts whipped up just for the party, special priority seating for the “Boo to You” Halloween Parade and “Hallowishes” fireworks. It takes place at Cinderella’s Royal Table and is hosted by Lady Tremaine and her villainous friends and includes wicked entertainment. The price is $99 per person (for anyone age 3 and older), plus tax (Gratuity included). Please note admission to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is required and is not included in the price.

Just the facts: Event time: 7 PM to midnight, although Disney does allow you to enter the park as early as 4PM. Separate park admission is required. Event dates include: September 1, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28 October 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 , 31.
